basically, in response to the question asked in an interview the question, i think, on what they thought about the fact that natasha romanoff (black widow) was sort of looked at to maybe be in a relationship with clint (hawkeye) or steve (captain america) at one point, but is now with bruce (hulk).

jeremy renner replied to it immediately with ‘she’s a slut’ and chris evans laughed hysterically at it (so people saying he’s going along with it, please, he genuinely found it funny) and then they continued to joke around with it.

i read someone say that chris called natasha a whore at one point, but i didn’t seem to hear that in the interview, but he did insinuate that natasha is a tease, and ‘likes to lead them on’.

we’re all really disappointed as the fandom really looked up to these guys, like chris evans is extremely popular in the fandom. we’re shocked, and disgusted, but moreso we’re disappointed.

the thing is, comic book fans, and now, with however long the mcu has been going for, the general public, has always given natasha a bad wrap, because she’s a female character. people constantly throw sexist remarks at her, calling her a slut for no reason, etc.

and the mcu has always been a white male dominated place, with not much room for women, or poc, and we’re really disappointed that jeremy and chris didn’t take this question and the interview as an opportunity to emphasise that the sexism given to black widow isn’t okay, but promoted the sexism through their own sexist actions.

EDIT: at around 0:20-0:21, you can hear chris evans call natasha ‘a complete whore’ according to an anon i was sent.

you know what’s so especially disgusting about this? the fact that people they’re acting like Natasha was leading Clint or Steve on just because she’s close friends with them. Like. No, literally, that’s what they’re saying: Natasha’s a slut because she’s close with them but dating Bruce. And that is so fucking ridiculously close to the friendzone-calling, ‘ppl of the opposite sex can’t be friends’ bullsit women and femme-presenting people have to put up with every freaking day.

And like. That just adds to this bullshit. Chris and Jeremy just turned superheroes into petty dudebros for a stupid sexist joke.

Fuck, I am just so upset about this.
