Hello everyone! So as a lot of you may know, movies aimed towards lesbians or showing a f/f relationship are almost always doomed to end on a dramatic and/or sad note. Fortunately, I was brave enough to go through a huge amount of these movies to select the ones that do not entirely suck. Yes that’s right, this will be a masterpost of lesbian themed movies WITH A HAPPY OR HOPEFUL ENDING!
So here it finally is! BUT, the list isn’t complete. I still have a couple to watch, and some links to find, so please tell me if you have any more movies you’d like to add. If any of the links are broken, send me a message and I will try to fix it. ENJOY YOUR HAPPY LESBIAN MOVIES! And as our dear Ellen Page once said…
has to literally be dragged home at the end of the night because they refuse to acknowledge that the party has ended and they’re the only person still there
2. Blissful Drunk

3. Emotional Drunk
not great at parties
is either crying tears of sorrow bc there’s no chips left or crying tears of gratitude bc someone showed them where the bathroom is
brings out everyone’s inner mother
4. Parent Drunk
keeps everyone’s shit together
everyone thinks they’re sober but they’ve actually had 5 shots in an hour

5. Slutty Drunk

needs to be taken home early
will drink anything you give them as long as there’s alcohol in it
@curdalert, asked me a few weeks ago,
“How do you approach figure drawing?”
While this isn’t really figure drawing in the traditional sense. This is just me trying to show how I see the human form, how I simplify things for myself to understand enough to move past all the bullshit and difficulty of drawing.
I’m by no means an expert in anatomy. I don’t know all the ins and outs of every damn bone, ligament or muscle. It’s all too much. A lot of this learned from sifting through tutorials and browsing the internet.
But figure drawing itself in the traditional sense is more about capturing the form. The force and flow of a pose. But I do keep a lot what I’m showing here in mind when I’m drawing from memory. I should however be doing a lot more life drawing, which is like zero at the moment. What I’m showing here can help de-mystify the human form a bit.
So basically, this little tutorial I threw together is really about these 3 SHAPES and how everything is a mix of those 3 shapes. No magic. No abiding by rules of how many heads fit into a body. It’s all just shapes.
Hope this helps. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, please send me more questions and I’ll do my best to answer them :)
for over ten years now, leonid tishkov has traveled the world with his moon. as he explains, “the moon is a shining point that brings people together from different countries, of different nationalities and cultures - and everyone who gets in its orbit does not forget it ever.”
“it gives fairytale and poetry in our prosy and mercantile world. the moon helps us to overcome our loneliness in the universe by uniting us around it,” he adds.
“the ancient ural peoples who lived in my home told a fairy tale about how a shaman goes into the next world, illuminating the path of the moon. so in all of my photos, i can be seen in my late father’s cloak, because he travels with me in this way.”
I LITERALLY JUST BROKE OUT INTO A COLD SWEAT HOLY CRAP DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who was the person doing the bird imagery?! GET ON THIS STAT!
From a very basic google search
Cardinals come from the word ‘cardo’ which means ‘hinge’. It’s important and other things 'hinge’ around it.
The cardinal is a 'daughter of the sun’. If it is seen flying upwards it is a sign of good luck. Downwards symbolises bad luck. That cardinal did fly DOWN to Bill…
From the first link about the birds when you google 'cardinal symbolism’. I’m sure others can do vastly better than this though!
It’s called Booster Buddy, it’s free, and it’s available for both Android and iOS.
It works by giving you ‘quests’ (daily tasks) that you are encouraged to complete each day. They are very small things and it caters to you (it asks you questions at the start about what you struggle with).
It’s designed to be child friendly and easy to understand. I’m finding it really helpful. You can also input medication times for a reminder and emergency contact details.
I love this app and I had to share it with you all!
thank you for this.
“PLEASE come wake me up again tomorrow”…think of all the lives this app could save
I’ve got this app and seriously it really helps. Not only do you have a calendar to record medication and feelings but you also want to wake up every morning to help the animal. It pretty much made my life better.
SO GUYS. Reblogging from myself because I just downloaded the app and it’s got some really useful features.
In the Settings section, there is a list of Helpful Websites for a variety of different mental health issues. The list is short, but it is a great idea.
The app has you input information (which you can choose not to share) like your local emergency number, local hospital, and an emergency contact person.
There are plenty of activities to keep you going in the right direction.
There is a calendar function and a medication reminder if you need one– and if you have an “as needed” medication, the app can remind you to take them if you check in in “Crisis” mode.
You can edit or change your information at any time, including your symptoms.
Also, less useful but really cute, you can dress up your animal buddy as you do more activities.
TL;DR This app is adorable and will probably be really, really useful for a lot of people.
BoosterBuddy!
I just downloaded this app this morning and it’s A M A Z I N G. I’m not overstating. This app combines some of the best elements and methods from all the various apps I’ve tried.
The two features that I haven’t seen elsewhere in mental health apps that I especially love are:
- It lets you choose a cute animal friend as a companion to keep you socially motivated. To “wake up” and play with this friend, you need to complete 3 wellness tasks (that are super simple and easy), once you’ve done your daily checkin tasks, the cute animal wakes up to play with you. You can tickle it, talk to it, and even play dress up!! Much more motivating than apps that try to make you feel connected to real people, IMO.
- It includes a “calendar” feature (not a big overwhelming calendar like a normal app) that lets you add your own tasks to your daily checklist. So now, along with “checked in,” “completed quests,” and “take medication” I have an extra task that’s alerting me to the fact that I have an important phone call coming up. It made me describe this as “appointment”: “An appointment means someone is counting on you to be somewhere.” I think that might be the most motivating description of an appointment ever. As an anxious person who tends to cancel and reschedule everything, this app is already making me feel better.
A+++++++++ plz download now guys
This app is amazing! I just noticed it said “people who menstruate,” so it is inclusive of trans people. Great attention to detail.
i have this app & it has helped me so much. Even if you don’t think you have a mental illness it’s still great to just hold onto as a pick me up
this app is so perfect tbh it’s making my mornings so much better.
I see this kinda advice passed around all the time here is the thing: shading with black will indeed look bad if you don’t know what you are doing. However, telling people not to do things without explaining why is terrible advice.
Shadows are the opposite of light, this includes in colour.
This means that if you have light in one colour, the shadow will be of the opposing hue, saturation, and value.
Unless the object is white, it has its own local colour -
the object’s true colour, how it would appear if the light were pure white.
The colour of the light influences the local colour of the object. so if you had yourself a brown cube and a blue light, the colours would get bluer and pinker.
now the reason shadows do not tend to be black is because pure white light is hard to find in nature.
the closest you will get to pure white light is during a really overcast day and the sun is filtering through the clouds, but even then
it’ll lean towards yellow so the shadows will be slightly blue.
But! None of this means you are never allowed to use black.
realistically shadows will have a hint of a colour to them, but stylistically you might be going for, say, a film noir look and deep black shadows are needed for impact for example.
The more you know about how light works, the more informed decisions you can make about shading and the more options you have.
If someone tells you that you can’t do something, they’re wrong! you can do what you like!
yes, black is hard to use and if you just mix a colour with black it’ll get muddy, but thats easily resolved by choosing your colours manually - which ideally you want to do regardless bc the computer doesnt have your eyes & cant choose the colours you like
basically if someone gives you some art advice and says you can’t do something, they’re wrong! you can, you just might need to study
a little to figure out how to make things work.
I mean for example, people will say you must make your composition follow the rule of thirds
and never align centrally, but while the rule of thirds makes it easy to create visual interest, Mad Max Fury Road is a testament to the fact
that central composition can and will work if you experiment.
there are no rules in art! there are theories based on reality, this has been a post on colour theory & light theory, but they exist to inform you, not to restrict you.
Do what you like! Trust your eyes, if you think something looks good, then great! If you don’t, then research & experiment until you do.
