Although we are yet to find out how long Rogue has been in development, here is a timeline I put together to easily show each game’s development time.
Starting with the first entry, which was originally set to be a fourth entry in the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time series, and ending with Unity, we can see that ACU is truly a reboot for the series, being the first to be developed for four years since the first game.
We can also see that Ubisoft has slowly moved toward a triple team development on the series; the AC1/AC2/AC3 team, the ACB/ACU team, and the ACR/AC4 team. This could lead to a constant 3 year development life for each game.
Since Rogue is being developed by the same team that developed Liberation, we could assume it has been in development for about two years, but we’ll find out soon.
What do you guys think? Do you like the way the series is heading development-wise?
