a distinguished professor of physics fiddleford mcgucket ends up joining his old research partner stanford pines (and his assistant rick sanchez) on a ghost-hunting mission, years after they had a falling out over the same issue (stanford firmly believes in ghosts and other supernatural beings, rick just wants to fuck with machines)
stanley pines encounters a ghost while busking and follows the flyers to the study of paranormal and joins the group too, despite stanford’s many protestations, because he knows the city pretty well (and he has a car). so that’s it! ghostbusters! they encounter many ghosts in their climb to fame, some of them more dangerous than others…
oh and bill is their new receptionist who doesn’t know how phones, computers, or walking like a person works. but he’s totally human! totally!
